South Tyrol

People might think that South Tyrol holidays have become into fashion in the last years, but this region has a very old hospitality tradition. In the XVI century, emperor Charles V loved staying in Merano, attracted by the city landscapes and its mild climate. Empress Sissi, Rainer Maria Rilke and Franz Kafka would have followed his example 300 years later, while many Austrian and Russian noble families spent their holidays in the Alps on the Seiser Alm, one of the most popular mountain resorts in South Tyrol. An important South Tyrol ski resort is Fié allo Sciliar, near the famous “Seiser Alm”, the biggest Alpine meadow in Europe. Fié allo Sciliar was considered an ideal holidays in the mountains destination for wellness already, as this resort was rich in “therapeutic waters and located in a picturesque position, characterized by a healthy climate”. Why not following all these “VIPs” example and not booking your Italy vacations in Merano or on the Seiser Alm? You’ll fall in love with South Tyrol!
