Ora
Ora (German Auer) is a mountain resort in South Tyrol located at 250 meters of height. Its landscape is characterized by orchards and vineyards; even if 70% of inhabitants are of German descent, the village atmosphere is typically Italian. A popular hiking trips destination near Ora is the Castelfeder ruin, which dates back to Prehistory; during the Roman and Medieval times more buildings were built. This ruin is located in a protected area and this hiking trip is very popular among families with children as well, as it’s possible to choose among easy hiking trips here, suitable even for mountain bikes. Moreover, in summer it’s possible to see many animals here. Mountain bike fans can start a mountain bike trip from Ora to explore “Bassa Atesina”, crossing the town of Egna till Magrè, to go back to Ora.
