Vilpiano
Vilpiano (German Vilpian) lies between Bolzano and Merano, and it’s famous for its asparaguses. Actually the “Asparaguses Weeks” take place here in spring and it’s possible to see how to cook this vegetable in many ways; restaurants present many dishes based on asparaguses! Vilpiano is a hamlet of the town of Terlano, together with another hamlet called Settequerce; here it’s possible to explore the Monte Zoccolo, reaching it thanks to a cableway. This place is ideal for hiking trips in summer; in Vilpiano it’s also possible to visit the local parish church and the Maultausch Castle, also called “Castel Nuovo”. The adrenaline fans can visit the “Hetz” (High Emotion Training Zone), where they can find ropes, nets and Tibetan bridge at a height of 8 meters above the soil!
